Why is Fundraising Essential at MCS?

As with most private schools that do not receive local, state or federal funding, the tuition charged at Montessori Country School only covers a portion of the cost of educating a child at our school. To make up the difference in cost, MCS asks for support through Annual Giving. This is an opportunity to make a tax-deductible contribution to the school that helps pay for everything from salaries to stamps!

Did you know? 

The tuition charged at MCS covers only about 80% of educating a child.
For example, the annual tuition charged for a Primary child is about $8,500, while our actual expenditure for the child is over $10,000.
By asking each family to give a gift of personal significance, Annual Giving allows us to minimize the increase in tuition each year and make our school accessible to more families.

MCS is thrilled to partner with One Call for All for our Annual Giving campaign. 

This is a wonderful opportunity for MCS to be part of a wider community philanthropic effort that has been a long-standing Bainbridge Island tradition.  OCFA collects donation dollars on behalf of non-profit community partners like MCS, removing the burden of credit card and other processing fees so that every dollar goes back to our staff, children and campus.
For every donation over $20, MCS will also receive a share of the OCFA community fund.  We encourage you to take advantage of the monthly or quarterly recurring gift options to maximize our shares of the community fund!
